Internal weeping tile

An internal drainage system is a waterproofing solution designed to redirect water that has entered a building to a sump pump or discharge point. The purpose of an internal drainage system is to prevent water damage by collecting and removing water before it hits your floor.

An internal drainage system consists of a trench that is dug on inside perimeter of foundation floor. Weeping tile or similar a channel is installed along this perimeter of the foundation to collect any water that has entered the building. The collected water is then directed to the sump pump, which pumps it out of the building and discharges it into a safe location.

It’s important to note that internal drainage systems should be installed by professionals to ensure proper installation and effective performance.

Often times an internal drainage system is an effective and cost effective alternative to outside waterproofing solutions.
